Prayer Update #8 ~ He went from one place to the next, . . . strengthening all the disciples.

 [originally posted 2 Aug 2022]

Dear Friends & Family,
“When he had landed at Caesarea, he went up and greeted the church, and then went down to Antioch. After spending some time there, he departed and went from one place to the next through the region of Galatia and Phrygia, strengthening all the disciples.”
                                                           (Acts 18:22-23)
As Paul and his fellow workers returned to the areas where they had first served in ministry after a short period of rest, our ELI teaching team has now returned to Bushenyi from our weekend of rest in Mbarara. We were graciously enabled to begin the first session of our second leadership training conference with a new group of local pastors and their spouses, and, as if to show us His refreshing blessing, the Lord caused the latter rains to begin falling as the session was progressing. You may get a sense of the sound and a little bit of fury at this link:
Our second group of pastors and spouses appear to me to be a little older (as a whole),more serious minded, and more mature in their faith.  We began by sharing the Gospel of Jesus as the only sure foundation for any marriage, and then we studied Genesis chapters 1 & 2 to learn the origin and purpose of marriage as God’s design for human flourishing.
Today, in our second sessions, we look forward to getting to know each pastoral couple better as we study Ephesians 5 and Colossians 3 to learn more about God’s design for the roles of husbands and wives within the family.
We have also returned to our accommodations in Bushenyi at the Crane Hotel where we have been provided quiet and comfortable rooms for evening rest and hearty meals to strengthen us during these final days of teaching and training. Here are a few views around our hotel’s grounds and interiors:
Please continue to remember us in prayer that we might point these dear sisters and brothers to Christ and His Living and Powerful Word. Many here have a sincere and vibrant faith, but their faith needs further grounding in God’s sure and true Word.
Thank you so very much for your thoughtfulness in prayer and your encouraging expression of support and care.
