Prayer Update #2 -- He will Preserve Your Going Out . . .
[orginally posted on 21 Jul 2022]
Dear Friends & Family,
The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade on your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore. (Psalm 121:5-8)
This psalm is often called the traveler's psalm, and I pray it as I venture out on each new journey. I greatly appreciate your joining me in prayer on this mission, as I departed St. Louis earlier this morning and have now arrived, by God's good and gracious hand, in Washington, DC, where I am scheduled to depart later today on the second leg of my journey to Brussels. There, I'm looking forward to meeting two members of our ELI team, Rose & Dennis Kroll, and then traveling together with them to our final destination, Entebbe, Uganda. If our flights continue to be on time, we are scheduled to arrive around 10:30 pm Friday night local time in Uganda. (2:30 pm US central time on Friday).
I can sense the support of your prayers and good wishes along this journey. Please pray especially during these first days that I will get to know my fellow team members well and that we will encourage one another as we continue to prepare and plan for our opportunity to serve and strengthen the faith of our sisters and brothers in Christ in Bushenyi through our time together with them. Pray that we will have ready ears to hear and hearts open to understand both the challenges and opportunities that they encounter as they share the Gospel and seek to build up the faith of fellow followers of Christ here in Uganda.
grace & peace for this day,
cordell
